Bagpipes have been made in Pakistan and India for possible over a hundred years following the British-Scottish tradition when military forces were stationed there in the 1800s. However, in addition to sounding a little thin, they naturally tune in the lower 440s meaning an A chanter or possible a Bflat with fiddling, would have to be used with these pipes. The lower pitch is generally pleasing on most bagpipes, and may be the saving grace for these Pakistani bagpipes. However, overall they did lack some depth in the drones. The ultimate test would have been to play them with a chanter but I didn’t have one low enough.
